PM's overseas trips cost RM44mil in 5 years
PARLIAMENT Overseas trips taken by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his entourage over the past five years cost a total of RM44.1 million, Parliament was today told.
In a written answer to Nga Kor Ming (DAP-Taiping), Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Shahidan Kassim said that was for trips taken from March 2008 to May 2013.
However, when asked if this may include the spending of former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, as he was only succeeded by Najib on Apr 3, 2009, Nga said he believes this was all Najib's spending.
"Maybe it includes his spending when he was deputy prime minister," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.
Nga had asked how much the prime minister had spent on overseas trips for himself and his entourage during the above mentioned period.
