Nurul Izzah’s divorce case to be heard on March 11

The Nurul Izzah Anwar-Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar divorce case that was scheduled before the Syariah High Court in Kuala Lumpur today has been put off to March 11.

Nurul Izzah’s lawyer Normawaddah Ramli said the two parties are still negotiating to resolve the matter amicably.

Raja Ahmad, who walked into a side witness entrance at 10.28am, immediately after entered into judge Abdul Malek Awang's chambers with his lawyer.

Nurul submitted her application under Section 47 of the Federal Territory Islamic Family Law Act 1984.

This application is not fasakh (annulment of marriage) as reported by various media recently but divorce by mutual agreement (permohonan penceraian secara baik).

It is understood that the application was made as a result of irreconcilable differences between Nurul Izzah and Raja Ahmad.
