Mabul attack: A WIDOW'S STORY

Mabul attack: A WIDOW'S STORY
KOTA KINABALU - The son of slain marine policeman Corporal Abd Rajah Jamuan at Mabul island attack would call out "baba" several time while asleep at night.
The widow Salamah Ahmad said that it was heart-wrenching to see the infant kept on looking for his father.
"It seems like he misses Rajah so much that the baby wakes up and cries at 11pm, and 1pm to check whether his father is around," she said after receiving RM57,000 financial aids from Royal Malaysia Police cooperative fund, insurance and UMNO welfare fund at police headquarters here in the morning.
The 26-year-old mother has also received other financial assistance from few non-governmental organisations and corporate companies.
"For now, I would like to fulfill my husband's wish in hosting 'akikah' (baby shower) ceremony for our baby during Hari Raya Aidilfitri," she said, adding that their son will turn a-year-old on July 26.
Last week 32-year-old Abd Rajah was killed in an exchange of fire with eight gunmen clad in black shirt and camouflage trousers at the Mabul Water Bungalows Resort off Semporna.
His colleague, Zakiah, 26 remained missing and is feared captured by the suspects.
Just before the 11pm ambush, both victims were having supper at the resort's dining hall. -NST
