Selangor assembly Speaker Hannah Yeoh today agreed with the recent findings that failure to handle the confiscation of 321 Malay and Iban Bibles was among the reasons behind waning support for Pakatan Rakyat.
The survey, conducted by Universiti Malaya's Centre for Democracy and Elections (UMcedel), revealed that support for Pakatan in Selangor has plunged by 15% from a year ago.
Yeoh said the state government, led by Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, had allowed the issue to go on without any concrete resolution for more than six months, which frustrated many, especially Christians.
"When the state government did not make any conclusive stance over the issue, as a Christian, yes, I was disappointed.
"I am certaim there are more out there who share my sentiment," she said in Shah Alam today. –TMI
