WHERE'S THE LEADERSHIP, NAJIB MUST STEP IN: Bung makes gaffe worse with 'German ambassador didn't understand me'
PETALING JAYA - Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin remains defiant with his Twitter salute to Adolf Hitler after the lawmaker tweeted that the German ambassador misunderstood him.
German ambassador to Malaysia Holger Michael ‘strongly rejected’ Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin's controversial tweet where he congratulated the German national team's performance in the World Cup semi-finals while saluting Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
One of his followers, @_gestapo asked in Malay, “Bung, German ambassador kata tak 'fun' langsung & 'strongly reject' statement hang. mana ni bung?” (Bung, the Germany ambassador said that your statement was not fun at all and strongly rejected it. Where Bung?)
To that, the volatile MP replied in malay, “dia x faham2,”(He doesn’t get it) on his official Twitter account, @MyKinabatangan.
He also posted a tweet condemning the Gaza attacks stating that if hailing Hitler is considered an insult, what about the accomplices who receives funding from NED and Zionists to cause chaos in the country.
Bung showed no remorse during a Wednesday interview with The Star, saying that he was a fan of the German national team and that he was happy with the 7-1 win over Brazil in the semi-finals and that there wasn't anything wrong with the reference to Adolf Hitler.
On Wednesday, following Germany’s thrashing over Brazil, Bung had tweeted, “WELL DONE..BRAVO...LONG LIVE HITLER”.
Hitler, the leader of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945, was responsible for the holocaust that resulted in the death of millions of Jews.
Bung’s tweet went viral with netizens condemning the Kinabatangan MP for being “insensitive” and “brainless” among other things.
Bung however, has maintained that his tweet was just for fun and that there wasn’t anything serious about it. -ANN
