Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who has accused his former boss Anwar Ibrahim of sodomising him, says he hopes the truth about the incident will come to light tomorrow as it is important for his honour.
Saiful said he also hoped that talk going on about the parlimanentary opposition leader striking a deal to be freed of the sodomy charge is not untrue.
"This truth is important and very meaningful for me and my whole family as it concerns my honour and future.
'I pray that pressure from the accused, outside parties as well as political elements trying to influence (the case) for him (Anwar) to be released is untrue," Saiful said in a blog posting today.
Anwar was on March 7 sentenced to five years' jail for sodomising Saiful, his former aide, by the Court of Appeal, which overturned his acquittal by the High Court upon the appeal of the government.
Anwar's final appeal against the sentence, in the Federal Court, will be heard for two days from tomorrow. He is currently free on bail.
The Permatang Pauh MP has maintained that the charge is politically motivated, pointing out that Saiful had met then Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak three days before lodging a police report on the sodomy accusation. -M'kini
