SETIA ALAM— Datuk Seri Najib Razak gave his assurance today that Barisan Nasional (BN) rejects extremism, saying the ruling coalition’s politicians have to lead by example by championing moderation.
This is despite the hatred spewed online via comments by disgruntled Internet users, which the prime minister said exists “because there is no censorship when it comes to the Internet”.
“They are not in the right balance, they are not thinking right, but we as political leaders, we must show the way by rejecting any form of extremism in this country.
“And Barisan Nasional rejects any form of extremism, and this includes Umno,” he said in his speech at Gerakan’s 43rd National Delegates Conference, followed by a thunderous applause and whistles.
