Body of 2nd foreign worker found at Putra Heights LRT site
The first body was found under the wet concrete at 10.24pm yesterday and the second body at 1.10am today, said Selangor Fire and Rescue assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul.
The first victim has been identified as Md Suman Mollah, in his 30s, while the second body had yet to be identified.
"The bodies were sent to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem," Sani was quoted as saying by Bernama.
According to the official Fire and Rescue Department Twitter account @bombaJBPM, there were seven workers, from Indonesia and Bangladesh involved in the 4.40pm incident, when the 8m formwork and scaffolding gave way during concreting work.
Six workers were levelling the wet concrete when the floor gave way at 4.20 pm, trapping two workers on the ground floor at the LRT terminal construction site in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru, Putra Heights.
Four of the six workers who fell along when the flooring gave way were injured while two escaped unhurt.
The Fire and Rescue Department called off the search-and-rescue operation after the second body was recovered today.
This is the second accident involving the LRT construction this year. On June 26, a man and a woman were injured when a steel beam fell on a car at Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang.
