Malaysia is not about Mahathir and Najib – Nawawi Mohamad

The spat between the supporters of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been going on for quite a while but it seems that it will not calm down.

Some Umno leaders have now felt that the spat between them is detrimental to Umno. It is so obvious, but it is also bad for the country.

Just when Datuk Zainudin Maidin has stopped commenting on politics and Tun Daim Zainudin has been quiet, Datuk Kadir Jasin has refused to slow down. He has commented with stronger words. Thus the effort by Datuk Seri Shahidan Kasim in trying to mediate has been ridiculed by Kadir!

While Dr Mahathir has his points and valid reasons to criticise Najib and give his opinion, it is still Najib who has to make the decisions in whatever the government is doing and trying to do. Najib has been very patient and refused to give immediate response. But Dr Mahathir has been so persistent thus Najib’s supporters had no choice but to retaliate. Unfortunately they made the mistake of attacking Daim, thus opening another front to be attacked.

It is the same with Dr Mahathir when he was the prime minister. Anybody can say anything but Dr Mahathir was the one who made all the decisions, no matter whether it was right or wrong, good or bad. But when Dr Mahathir could not bear it anymore, he either fired his critics or jailed them.

Thus Dr Mahathir has no moral standing to remove Najib from power which is undemocratic anyway. Dr Mahathir does not represent the majority; he represents only himself!

If really Dr Mahathir wants to remove Najib, he should not be wandering around the bush. Please just go and see Sirul and Azilah. Don’t waste everybody’s time.

Mahathir should not keep on stirring things up when our country is facing so many blunders and calamities. Whether good or bad, let Najib do his job and the people will determine his fate when the time comes. Dr Mahathir, Daim and Kadir must accept that they belong to yesterday.

Najib on the other hand must manage the country properly. He should have fired all his foolish advisors who have failed to give him good advices. Najib, can’t you see how many blunders have you made based on their advices? How can you be so foolish to not be able to how bad our country has become now! Najib should also take heed of the warnings to improve the situation. Najib cannot keep on not doing anything to improve the situation. That’s why your enemies can say so many things about you!

Never mind what will happen to Umno; the spat between Mahathir and Najib now is not good for the country at all. They must come to their senses soon.

Anyway, Malaysia is not about either Mahathir or Najib. It is all about the people because no matter what, in the end it is us, the “rakyat”, who have to bear all the repercussions.
