The systems involves compiling, verifying, maintaining, updating and analysing the database of legal and illegal foreign workers
KUALA LUMPUR: The primary objective of the new online system for Foreign Workers PL(KS) Permit Renewal through My E.G.Services Bhd (MyEG) is to differentiate between legal and illegal foreign workers in the country and those who employ the latter.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, MyEG said the system, which commenced on January 5, would also provide a more convenient and efficient way to undertake transactions.
“MyEG’s role is also to compile, verify, maintain, update and analyse the database of legal and illegal foreign workers. This is alongside authorised employers of foreign workers, those who unknowingly have foreign workers registered under their name, as well as illegal foreign workers on their payroll.
“MyEG has the responsibility to ensure valid insurance is in place before processing the transaction, as MyEG will be liable for any non-compliance,” it added.
MyEG said the RM38 fee was for the above scope of responsibility, as well as, to deliver the renewed permits to the home or offices of users with biometric verification.
Insurance Guarantees, Foreign Workers Compensation Scheme, as well as, Foreign Workers Hospitalisation and Surgical Scheme (FWHS) can be purchased through any insurance agent, including MyEG.
MyEG will also bear the cost of deportation of illegal foreign workers detained.
