SHAH ALAM - The Selangor state government will not compromise on the issue of the RM2.6mil severance payments made to eight former aides of ex-Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
Mentri Besar Azmin Ali (pic) said the eight had been given two weeks to comply with a letter of demand sent earlier this week asking them to return the money they had received from state conglomerate Mentri Besar Incorporated.
He also debunked allegations by MBI’s former chief executive officer Faekah Husin that the audit report on the payments, commissioned by the state government, was flawed.
"It was an independent audit report and there are indications that proper procedures were not adhered to and there are irregularities, " Azmin told reporters Wednesday after sending off Selangor local council teams heading to Kelantan to clean-up flood ravaged areas.
Faekah had issued a statement alleging that the audit report was flawed and the eight aides would be challenging it. - ANN
