Security operation uncovers 309 Filipinos, Indonesians and a Pakistani
KOTA KINABALU: A total of 339 illegal immigrants were detained in a joint operations coordinated by the Sabah National Security Council over two days which ended Saturday evening.
Sabah NSC secretary Rodzi Md Saat said the illegal immigrants, aged between one to 59 years, were among 842 people who were checked around Kota
Kinabalu and Penampang.

Following the initial checks, 339 were arrested and have been remanded for various immigration offences.
“The immigrants were detained in 13 raids conducted in nine kongsi houses, three squatter areas, and a public area,” he said in a statement here today.
Of those detained, 309 were Philippine nationals while the remainder comprised 29 Indonesians and one Pakistani.
The operations which ended at 6 pm, involved 134 officers and enforcement personnel from eight agencies including the National Registration Department,
Immigration Department, Police force, Kota Kinabalu City Hall and Civil Defence Department.
