Kadir Jasin says the silence before the crash, the absence of a Mayday call and the role of one passenger leaves more questions than answers.

PETALING JAYA: The findings of those investigating the deadly crash of Eurocopter AS3655N2 Dauphin in Semenyih on April 4, has left a veteran journalist feeling even more disturbed about the aviation tragedy that killed six people.
Posing more questions than providing answers, Kadir Jasin said, “Things are getting ever stranger and more disturbing in our beloved Malaysia.”
He was not only referring to the mysterious disappearance of MAS flight MH370 in March last year or the downed MAS flight MH17 months later that preceded the helicopter crash but also three observations by investigators.
In his latest blog posting, he highlighted three intriguing facts that appeared in a report carried by the New Straits Times:
“All on board went quiet for several minutes before the death plunge.”
“Aidana Baizieva was an ‘active participant’ of the flight’s operations.”
“No Mayday call: Explosion could have destroyed communication system.”
Expressing his intrigue at the silence among the passengers just before the crash, he said, “Why did the voice recorder, which earlier on showed that the passengers were ‘very chatty’, suddenly (go) silent for a while before the craft went down?”
He noted the newspaper report saying that not even the pilot and his woman friend, who was reportedly in the co-pilot’s seat, “uttered anything” but offered the suggestion that they could have gone silent for any number of reasons, including fatigue.
Referring to the report as saying there was an explosion onboard before the aircraft plunged to the ground, Kadir asked, “What sort of explosion – engine-related, explosives, gunfire, lightning….?”
The helicopter that crashed in Semenyih, carried Jamaluddin Jarjis, Member of Parliament for Rompin and PR1MA Corporation chairman; Azlin Alias, principal private secretary to the prime minister; Jamaluddin’s bodyguard, Razakan Seran; the pilot Captain Clifford William Fournier; Aidana Baizieva; and Kedah businessman Tan Huat Seang.
