Najib sues Nga over Facebook post about Rosmah

Demand letter for apology and removal of status update within 48 hours.

TAIPING: Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor have demanded an apology and the removal of a Facebook posting by Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming, who is head of Perak DAP.

A demand letter was sent through a legal firm to Nga complaining about allegedly defamatory statements posted by the MP in his Facebook account on March 29.

The letter was delivered to Nga at his office in Taiping at 3.35pm on Friday, the firm said.

The statements in question allegedly appeared on Nga’s Facebook account, uploaded in a status with a photograph, entitled ‘Nga Kor Ming: Siapa PM Malaysia Yang Sebenar? Jawab!’ (Nga Kor Ming: Who is the Real Prime Minister of Malaysia? Answer!)

In the letter, Nga was told to remove the status from his Facebook account and cease publishing further defamatory statements pertaining to the issue against Najib and Rosmah within 48 hours.

It also demanded a written unconditional apology, and asked Nga to offer compensation and bear the legal costs.

Nga must also publish the retraction and apology in a page and size to be approved by the couple in at least two national newspapers of their choice.

The letter of demand claimed that the status update was a serious slander and that the allegations in the status update were baseless.
