PERMATANG PAUH - Selangor Mentri Besar Azmin Ali expects to be arrested for calling Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar an Umno “barua (lackey)” recently after the inspector-general of police (IGP) called the term “extreme”.
He told a DAP Socialist Youth rally at Taman Ciku here that this may be his last before he gets arrested.
“I received information that I might get arrested tonight or maybe tomorrow,”
“I did not kill anyone, I didn’t steal anything, I only criticised the IGP,” he told the crowd of about a thousand people.
He then reminded the people to support PKR during tomorrow’s by-election here.
“You must support us so that Kak Wan (PKR’s Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) can continue to oppose and fight for your rights in parliament,” he said.
During a recent ceramah here, the Selangor mentri besar accused Khalid of being an Umno lackey.
Today, in a press conference, Khalid said Azmin’s statement is “extreme”.
“Our country has laws and let the law decide. I am also not sure whether an investigation paper on this case has been opened or not,” Khalid reportedly said earlier today during a press conference. - Malay Mail
