No such directive has been issued on the matter and any statement or report on a toll rate increase is not true
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) has refuted an article entitled ‘Toll Rate Hike in August?’ uploaded in the Free Malaysia Today website yesterday.
LLM director-general Ismail Md Salleh said to date, the government had not made any decision on raising the toll rate.
“No such directive has been issued to concession companies on the matter. As such, any statement or report on a toll rate increase is not true,” he said in a statement here today.
He said at the moment, toll for all highways would remain at the current rate.
According to the website yesterday, 19 highway concession companies would raise their toll rates in August, at between 50% and 100%.
