The state will bear the GST cost of not less than RM 2.4 million annually
KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan state government will absorb the Goods and Services Tax (GST) imposed on the people in the state over the payment, rental and lease of facilities provided by the local councils.
Deputy Menteri Besar, Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the initiative, effective today was to ease the financial burden of the people.
“Based on ten matters that have been identified, the state government will bear the cost of not less than RM2.4 million annually from this tax exemption,” he told reporters after the state council meeting at the Kota Darul Naim complex here, today.
Mohd Amar said the GST’s exemption list included rental and market lease; hall; office equipment; electrical appliances and local councils’ vehicles.
