PROOF OF HOW POLITICIZED PDRM HAS BECOME DUE TO IGP: 3 police reports lodged against Azmin for 'barua Umno' remark
Senior police officers want Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali to apologise to Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar for calling him an “Umno barua” (Umno lackey).
The chairperson of the Gazetted Officers Branch of the Senior Police Officers Association, Shah Gzali Khan Shahadad, said the remark had hurt the police.
"The entire police force is very hurt by this statement… and strongly condemn Azmin.
"Insulting and bashing the IGP means insulting and bashing the entire police institution that serves the people, without taking into account politics, race or religion.
"We urge Azmin to issue an open apology for this insult," Shah Gzali said in a statement today.
He added that three police reports have already been lodged against Azmin (right).
The Selangor menteri besar and PKR deputy president had on Sunday questioned if Khalid wanted to be the IGP or an Umno lackey.
Azmin was clearly upset that day over police detention of opposition leaders, activists and participants in the May 1 anti-goods and services tax rally in Kuala Lumpur
Azmin: I merely raised a question

However, Azmin insisted that what he said during a ceramah in Permatang Pauh was merely a question, and was not an insult to Khalid or the police force.
Police, on the other hand, seem to have taken it to heart, and Shah Gzali expressed hope that Azmin would be more cultured when speaking at such ceramah sessions.
"The police hope that Azmin will be more cultured, polite and decent when speaking at a political ceramah.
"Insulting and defaming another is a sin. Insulting and using harsh words is also a sign of desperation that a person has to hit below the belt," Shah Gzali said. - M'kini
