KUALA LUMPUR -Lawyer Kamal Hisham Jaafar has “sincerely advised” Johor prince Tunku Idris Sultan Ibrahim to understand the Johor state’s agreement with the Federation of Tanah Melayu instead of just “glancing over” the post on Facebook.
In a Facebook posting today, Kamal Hisham said he could only laugh it off after reading the supposed “caution” posted by the younger brother of Johor’s Crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim that the southern state may secede from Malaysia.
“There is no provision in the agreement that allows Johor to secede from Malaysia.
“Some of the claims, among others, that there is special provision for Johor and the Royal Johor Military Force cannot be interfered are not true,” he said in a lengthy post on the social networking site.
Kamal Hisham added that the “legacy” does not exist and it was a “syok sendiri” (self-praising) statement.
“The 1885 agreement has been overridden by other agreements thereafter,” he said.

Kamal Hisham told the prince not to “gatal tangan” (be itchy), to post it on Facebook or Instagram, and instead, should read and know the history.
“I hope the federal government can take stern action against those who posted inciting or instigating remarks.”
Yesterday, it was reported that the Tunku Temenggong Johor created a stir on Instagram after sharing a photo of the agreement and “warned” that Johor may secede from Malaysia.
