Part of Ranau school ceiling collapses during quake

Part of the ceiling of the library at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Mohamad Ali near here collapsed following the mild earthquake that occurred in Ranau today.

No one was injured in the incident as the library has remained closed from June 5 when a 5.9-magnitude earthquake caused much of the ceiling to collapse.

The security guard of the school, Mohd Ruzali Suhaili, said today's incident occurred at 10.55am.

The Meteorological Department reported that a 3.5-magnitude earthquake hit Ranau at 10.54am today.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Mohd Affendy K. Ramin said in a statement that a check was made at the school at about noon.

The June 5 earthquake had claimed 18 lives. – Bernama
