PUTRAJAYA DENIES CRUELTY TO ANWAR: He gets regular health checks - Prisons Dept
PETALING JAYA - Imprisoned PKR de factor leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been given regular health checks since he was sent to the Sungai Buloh prison on Feb 10.
Prison Department deputy director (Prisons Policy) Supri Hashim said that between Feb 10 and May 29, Anwar had his health examined and checked daily.
"His health is examined by a medical expert panel from Kuala Lumpur Hospital, while daily checks are carried out by the Sungai Buloh Prison medical officer.
"His is in stable condition," he said in a statement today.
Supri also noted that Anwar carries out his "sunat" fasting (ibadah puasa sunat) on Mondays and Thursdays every week.
"The Prisons Department does not stop any inmate from getting further treatment in the hospital after being recommended and ordered by the medical officer examining the inmate," he added.

The family claimed that despite repeated calls for him to be placed in hospital, it was ignored.
However, the family was informed that Anwar will be sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital today for a check-up and observation.
