In expectation of a big payoff, two youths blew up two automated teller machines (ATMs) in a bank with an improvised explosive device in Taman Midah, Kuala Lumpur, this morning.
At the sound of the alarm triggered by the explosion, however, their courage failed and they scurried away empty-handed.
The 4.19am exploit shattered half the glass wall of the room in which the ATMs were kept.
In a statement, Cheras police chief ACP Chong Kok Sin said a security guard spotted the youths knocking on the ATMs and fleeing when the alarm sounded. – Bernama
