The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will record statements from two top executives of SRC International Sdn Bhd as part of the anti-graft agency's probe into the former 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) subsidiary.
In a written reply to Teo Nie Ching (DAP-Kulai), Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said SRC International's managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil and director Datuk Suboh Md Yassin would be interviewed the "soonest".
"Based on information from SRC International Sdn Bhd, Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil and Datuk Suboh Md Yassin are making preparations to be interviewed by SPRM soonest to help in the investigations," the prime minister said, using the Malay acronym for MACC.
Teo had asked if the duo's posts would be rescinded as they had refused to cooperate with the MACC investigation.
MACC is also looking to record the statement of billionaire Low Taek Jho, popularly known as Jho Low.
On August 22, MACC had issued notices to the trio to appear before them to assist in the ongoing probe into some RM42 million channelled into Najib’s personal bank accounts.
Following the notice, Low contacted MACC and stated his willingness to cooperate with the authorities.
Former Police Special Branch deputy director Datuk Abdul Hamid Bador had in August alleged there were efforts to hide the main witnesses with regard to the SRC International probe.
Without divulging names, Hamid said one of the main witnesses had previously hidden in Indonesia and Thailand, and was now in New Zealand.
"There are efforts to hide the main witnesses. They are those wanted by MACC," he had said.
In July, the Immigration Department issued a travel ban on Nik Faisal while Suboh was reported missing.
Nik Faisal's last known address is Alam Impian, Shah Alam while Suboh’s is Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. Jho Low is from Tanjung Bungah Park, Penang.
Apart from the RM42 million, MACC is also investigating a RM4 billion Retirement Fund Inc loan to SRC International.
