MPs should vote against Budget 2016, says Raja Bahrin

If the Budget is brought down, that will be an expression of no confidence in the Prime Minister.

KUALA LUMPUR: An Opposition MP, Raja Kamarul Bahrin Raja Ahmad from Kuala Terengganu, has urged his fellow MPs to vote across party lines against Budget 2016 to express no confidence in Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

“Friday is the day.”

“It’s time for the MPs to play their role and help find closure on the continuing crisis.”

Raja Bahrin reminded that the recent statement by the pre-Council Meeting of the Conference of Rulers on 1MDB among others, underlines the gravity of the situation facing the country.

“Many good men have spoken up. Now, even the Rulers have taken a stand.”

Voting against the Budget, he stressed, needed brave and honourable men to get together across the political divide and step forward to be counted. “They must come together to save the nation from financial ruin and racial and religious strife.”

There was a total blackout on 1MDB, he lamented. “All our questions in Parliament on the company were shot down on the very first day.”
