Two lanes on one carriageway used for contra-flow, highway fully open tomorrow
BENTONG: The Karak Highway was partially reopened for traffic in either direction this afternoon, using two lanes of one carriageway.
The Works Ministry said the traffic contra flow begin from KM52 to KM50.
Works Minister Fadillah Yusof said in a statement that the highway would be fully operational from 2pm on Sunday. “The delay is because the highway concessionaire is still refurbishing the road surface due to the landslide,” he said, according to Star Online.
Highway users were advised to follow the instructions given by workers and on signboards.
The highway was closed on Wednesday night after a mudslide trapped at least four vehicles, causing a traffic standstill in both directions.
