Zahid raises eyebrows with 'muddy river, dead fish' analogy

UMNO AGM | Umno vice-president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is hoping that no "fish" will die when the party cleans its "river".
"Some housekeeping needs to be done, things need to be fixed so our river is not muddy.
"When the river is muddy upstream, it will be muddy downstream. So hopefully, no fish will die from the muddy waters which have been poisoned," he added.
Zahid said it would be Umno president Najib Abdul Razak who does the housekeeping.
Though he did not mention names or details, certain observers felt Zahid could be suggesting a purge is on the cards.
Muhyiddin Yassin's position as deputy president is already at stake after he delivered a caustic speech against Najib on Monday night.
Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said he had already submitted his investigation papers on Muhyiddin to the party's disciplinary board.
Muhyiddin and Umno vice-president Mohd Shafie Apdal were both sidelined in the party after losing their cabinet positions for criticising 1MDB. -Mkini
