Najib hasn't cleared court of public opinion: Ku Li

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak may have been absolved of any wrongdoing by attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali but things are different in the court of public opinion, Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah said today.
"If the AG said there is no case, then there is no case. The answers satisfy the present situation because there is no case to answer to.
"Legally, that is is the position but things might be different in the court of public opinion," Tengku Razaleigh told reporters outside Parliament.
He was commenting on Apandi's announcement yesterday that Najib had not committed any offence with regard to the RM2.6 billion donation and RM42 million from SRC International Sdn Bhd deposited into his personal bank accounts.
The MACC, however, is of a different opinion and has said that it will submit its papers on the investigations to its oversight body, the operations review panel (PPO).
The PPO is an independent panel that reviews cases from the MACC that are not pursued by the attorney-general’s chambers. -Mkini
