PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim is not in any critical condition, despite being sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the Bebas Anwar movement said.
It said Anwar was transferred to Hospital Kuala Lumpur about 3pm yesterday due to unstable blood pressure because the Sungai Buloh Prison medical centre did not have the required facilities to monitor his condition.
“He was administered medication to stabilise his blood pressure because the previous medication given was not very effective,” Bebas Anwar said in a Facebook posting.
Word has been circulating that Anwar was in critical condition after his lawyer and PKR MP Sivarasa Rasiah said yesterday the jailed leader was rushed to the hospital.
Anwar’s wife and PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail visited him at Hospital Kuala Lumpur today.
Bebas Anwar said Anwar has been experiencing fluctuating blood pressure since last year.
“Even though in pain, Anwar still smiled and put up a brave front whenever we meet him in court.
“He also advised supporters to prioritise national issues and unite to topple Umno.
“He said his health issues are petty compared to the suffering and struggles of the people,” Bebas Anwar said. -Mkini
