Contrary to this perception, he said the PKR secretary-general was afraid of facing those who represented the individuals whom he hurled accusations at.
He was referring to Rosmah Mansor’s aide Rizal Mansor being barred from attending Rafizi’s press conference in Kuala Kangsar this afternoon.
“If he is brave, he would be prepared to meet the media or whoever is representing the individual he is making accusations against.
“Brave because you are right, fearful because you are wrong,” he told reporters.
Zahid said the incident revealed that in fact the person who is regarded as being brave for exposing alleged wrongdoings and scandals, lacked courage.
Rizal was stopped at the entrance of the venue where Rafizi met reporters to reveal more details about Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s wife using a private jet to Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Zahid also dismissed Pakatan Harapan’s allegation that voters in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar had been given ‘dedak’ (animal feed).
The term is often used to describe bribes given in return for support.
Zahid said DAP has become the backbone of Pakatan Harapan and its blue-eyed boy is Parti Amanah Negara.
“Therefore, DAP would work hard to ensure its investment (in Amanah) reaps political dividends for them.
“They would use all sorts of tactics and strategies which are ethical or otherwise to achieve this,” he added.
However, Zahid said he was confident that voters in both parliament constituencies would not fall victim to such claims and cast their ballots for the BN candidates in the June 18 twin by-elections. -Mkini
