More Malaysian women watch porn using mobile devices

Porn site ranks Malaysian women as seventh most likely in the world to access porn using a mobile device, putting the country ahead of other Southeast Asian nations.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian women outstrip men when it comes to accessing porn using mobile devices, according to a report by a pornography site.

Pornhub also ranks Malaysian women as seventh most likely in the world to access porn using a mobile device.

The report, released on March 7, said 84% of Malaysian women who browsed the site used a mobile device. In comparison, only 66% of Malaysian men accessed porn in this manner.

Malaysian women were also 18% more likely to use mobile devices than men.

South Africa took first place with 91% of women using mobile devices to view porn. The US was second at 89%, and the UK was third at 86%.

Indonesia and Thailand are the only other Southeast Asian countries on the list. Indonesia holds 11th place at 80% while Thailand is in 13th position at 79%.

Pornhub said about 72% of current worldwide traffic to the site came from smartphones and tablets.

As of February, nearly 80% of female traffic worldwide came from mobile devices, compared with about 69% for men.

According to the report, 71% of female traffic to Pornhub comes from smartphones, 8% from tablets and 21% from desktop computers.

Compared with men, women are 16% more likely to use phones and 10% more likely to use tablets to access porn.

This was the case regardless of age group, the report said, with women always proportionately more likely to be using mobile devices.

Unsurprisingly, the largest proportion of smartphone use (78%) came from millennials aged 18-34. -FMT
