Fuel prices see first increase after five weeks of decline



Fuel prices will see its first increase after five consecutive weeks of decline.
Effective midnight, RON95 and RON97 will go up four sen per litre respectively.
This puts the new fuel price at RM1.93 per litre for RON95 and RM2.19 per litre for RON97.

As for diesel, the retail price will go up by seven sen to RM1.91 per litre.
Weekly fuel prices are determined based on the average Means of Platts Singapore (Mops) price as well as the average ringgit strength against the US dollar in the previous week.
According to Bloomberg, global Brent crude oil hit a daily high of US$49.76 per barrel earlier today, in contrast to US$47.42 last Thursday.
Meanwhile, the ringgit hit a daily low of RM4.2983 against the US dollar earlier today with a marginal difference in the last week.- Mkini
