Amanah's Shah Alam MP Khalid Abdul Samad said Hisbah Malaysia chairperson Ezam Mohd Noor should not be contesting against Pakatan Harapan parties if he is against corruption.
This follows Hisbah Malaysia announcing it will field Ezam in Khalid's parliamentary constituency in the next general election.
Hisbah Malaysia said the goal was to promote anti-corruption awareness amongst the urban Malay populace.
"If he wants to fight corruption, then he should stand against the father of kleptocracy.
"He shouldn't face off with PKR, Bersatu or any seats where Harapan has a candidate," said Khalid.
Khalid said it was strange for Ezam to stand in Shah Alam if his agenda was anti-corruption.
"People would see it as an attempt to split votes," he said.
However, Khalid said it was Ezam's right if he insisted on contesting in Shah Alam.
Shah Alam will be contested by Amanah and the party is likely to field Khalid again.
Ezam, who had quit Umno twice, PKR once and NewGen Party once, will be contesting as an independent.- Mkini
