MCA president: Don't publicise internal party issues in media

Who has been selected, who has not and who declined to contest in the 14th general election (GE14) should not be made into issues in the media, said MCA president Liow Tiong Lai.
He said MCA members regardless of whether they had been chosen or not, should work hard and give their highest commitment in the coming general election which could be held at any time.
The transport minister told reporters this when commenting on talks that MCA secretary-general and Tanjong Malim MP Ong Ka Chuan would not be contesting in GE14.
“I do not discuss MCA candidate issues in the media as I will only discuss issues on candidates with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak...I feel internal party issues should not be discussed through newspapers.
“MCA is now on full alert for GE14 and candidates should not be made into an issue... MCA as a whole must work hard for the party, for the people in the country,” he said after presenting "Pride of Workmanship Awards" by Rotary Clubs to 66 KTM Berhad employees in Kuala Lumpur today.
Liow said MCA had submitted its list of candidates to Najib, who is also BN chairperson, with 50 percent new faces including youths, middle-aged candidates and veterans, to help MCA win the general election.
“The number of MCA seats remained the same...there are no problems on seats in BN as they have been allocated a long time ago and if there was a change of seat, the component parties will discuss, that is not a problem,” he said.
