Police release image of Indira’s ex-husband, say hunt going on

Police have insisted that they have never ceased their search for Muhammad Riduan Abdullah, who has reportedly refused to return his daughter to his former wife, M Indira Gandhi.
Since Riduan was ordered to do so by the High Court in Ipoh four years ago, various measures have been taken to trace him, including asking members of the public to report sightings of him, Bukit Aman CID director Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said in a statement today.
Wan Ahmad also released an image of the suspect and reiterated the call from inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun to members of the public not to speculate on the "sensitive" case, so as to not jeopardise public order.
“The people are asked to not play up the issue in any way that can create tension among members of this country’s multiracial society,” Wan Ahmad's statement reads.
Fuzi confirmed on Monday that efforts were ongoing to trace Riduan, previously known as K Pathmanathan, based on a warrant of committal issued by the High Court on May 30, 2014.
Fuzi’s statement came after Indira (photo) said the IGP no longer had any “excuse” not to hunt for her former husband.

"The IGP has no excuse now, and he has to do what is required of him. He has to start now," she said, following the Jan 29 Federal Court decision that nullified the conversion of her three children to Islam without her consent.
Riduan had converted the children unilaterally in 2009, after his own embrace of Islam.
The following year, the High Court in Ipoh granted full custody of the children to Indira and ordered Riduan to return their youngest daughter Prasana Diksa to her.
In 2016, the Federal Court ordered then IGP Khalid Abu Bakar to arrest Riduan for failing to comply with the order.
However, he remains at large.
Wan Ahmad in his statement today also urged members of the public with any information on the whereabouts of either Riduan or Prasana to alert the police as soon as possible. -Mkini
