A Selangor PAS leader has justified going to Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to get their state allocations claiming the ruler should be apprised of the truth of the matter.
"We sent a letter to inform His Highness of what really happened, because he is the umbrella of justice for the rakyat," PAS state commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi said yesterday.
"Who else can we complain to and tell the true story of what had happened, because what had been said before this is most inaccurate," he said at PAS' own celebration of their decade in the PKR-led Pakatan rakyat-Harapan state government in Shah Alam.
Their anniversary was held on the same day as Pakatan Harapan's own celebrations at a nearby stadium.
He was responding to Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali saying PAS dragging the Selangor palace into its allocation tussle was an insult to the royal institution.
"Why do we need to involve the palace? This is an administrative issue," he told reporters yesterday.
PAS has claimed its state assemblypersons have not received their allocations that the PKR-led state government provides to all elected representatives, for two months.
Azmin said they should bring the matter to the district officers instead of the palace, claiming his administration does not discriminate which party the assemblyperson belongs to, even Umno, when issuing the allocations.
Seething over snub
Sallehen, who is Sabak assemblyperson, told the crowd they will not be appealing to the state government to get their state funds.
"In reality, he has no intention of giving the allocations to us, as PAS will also not appeal.
"If you want to give, then give. Money can't tame a man's heart. We depend on Allah," he said.
Sallehen also criticised Harapan's carnival yesterday for not inviting PAS excos, who have held on to their state cabinet positions despite cutting ties with PKR last year.
He also questioned the use of state funds for the programme.
"Such a programme needs budget approval from the state government.
"The programme is short, but they asked for a large allocation including asking all excos to approve this budget. Yet they excluded our excos," he claimed.
"They put up others to make speeches about Selangor's success, and deny our excos a chance to address (the function).
"We consider this an insult to our exco, along with the freeze of PAS assemblypersons' allocations. "This, too, is an insult," he said.
Since cutting ties with PKR, PAS has vowed to contest in numerous seats held by their former coalition partners PKR and DAP in the coming general election.
At yesterday's celebrations, participants prayed the destruction of an "evil Pakatan" and for God to give them a chance to rule Selangor. -Mkini
