Today I rest my case lah. I am going to leave this post up here for a while and take the weekend off.

Here is a shocker of a headline.  Just to make sure, I screen-shotted THREE different online newspapers for the same headline.

The Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman has told the Washington Post that Salafism aka Wahhabism was a tool propagated by the West to fight Communism and the Cold War.  It had nothing to do with Islam. It was pure politics.

My comments :  It had nothing to do with Islam. The US wanted some extreme ideology to counter the communist Soviet Union in the Islamic countries.  The Soviets were atheists. Salafism / Wahhabism is an extremist ideology full of head chopping zeal against communists, atheists and Shias.  Plus the main proponents of Salafism / Wahhabism ie the Saudis had tons of oil money and wanted to buy legitimacy as the guradians of the two holy cities. So the Americans gave them an avenue to buy that legitimacy. Spend your money to spread Salafism / Wahabism. 

Then when the Ayatollahs took over Iran,  Salafism / Wahabism came in handy as a political tool to fight the Ayatollahs as well.  Two birds with one stone.  

As far as the Saudis were concerned,  it had nothing to do with Islam. To them, it was all just politics. The politics of survival. That is what the Saudi Crown Prince is saying.

And now since the Saudis are fighting for their survival again, it is all politics again.  The Crown Prince is now saying :

The Saudis are now saying  'Islam has been hijacked'.

By who?  By the Salafis / Wahabis.  

Salafism / Wahabism has become a sat_nic monster. 

Now the same West is telling the Saudis  'dump Salafism'

So Saudi Arabia will be dumping Salafism / Wahhabism. 

So what will become of the millions of Saudi b_tt kissers all over the world? All the confused table cloths and skull caps who have been fed Saudi Wahabi rhetoric all these years?
