Untuk Perhatian Pimpinan Pakatan Harapan : Hindraf And The Indian Vote

Image result for Hindraf

Like it or not, Hindraaf is becoming a strong Indian political movement, especially for the Hindu Tamils from Tamil Nadu who make up the bulk of Indians in Malaysia.

Here is something from a friend of mine who in involved with them:

The above report has its substance and make sense because to date PH has not made any commitment towards fielding HINDRAF reps as candidates although they have been campaigning aggressively throughout the country.

Why do I say that, see below:

Total Indian votes in GE12 was  660,340 votes.
Indian votes for Pakatan Rakyat was 470,954 (71.32%)
Indian votes for BN was  189,385 (28.68%).

Then at the 13th General Elections (GE13) things switched around. Najib  signed a MOU with the Hindraf and Waythamoorthy.  The BN would provide policy changes to stateless indians, assist displaced estate workers, programs for improving the socio economic of the indians. All bullshit happened. HINDRAF walked out after 8 months.

The result was that in the GE13 in 2013, while the BN actually lost more votes, when they lost the popular vote and when the BN lost even more Parliamentary seats, the ONLY consolation for the BN was that the Indian vote had swung back to the BN.

Here are the numbers. For GE13 in 2013 :

Total Indian votes in GE13  859,993 votes.
Indian votes for BN – 425,165 (49.44%)
India votes for the Pakatan Rakyat  – 434,828 (50.56%)

Note carefully :

In GE12 the Indian vote for the BN was 189,000 (Hindraf anti BN)
In GE13 the Indian vote for the BN was 425,000 (Hindraf pro BN)

Hindraf had made the Indian vote increase by 2.24 TIMES from GE12 to GE13.

I fail to understand why the PH leadership is taking such a lacklustre attitude towards HINDRAF.

They fail to resonate with the silent Indian voters in the semi rural and rural segment who have a special relationship with HINDRAF.

Only Pribumi and Hindraf are really working hard to ensure the fall of BN.

It seems like  the  PKR and DAP are quite happy to just rule Selangor and Penang as the latter's presence is practically non existent  in the  rural areas.

The PH leadership needs to mature and muster the will to bring HINDRAF's representatives if they are serious in capturing Putrajaya.
