Afghanistan and Yemen are unconquerorable not just because of the people. It is the rugged mountain territory that makes taking and holding territory very, very difficult and extremely costly. Plus the conquerors are strangers, they are aliens in a land that does not value their presence at all.
A few days ago there was a major escalation of the fighting in Afghanistan when the Taliban killed over 200 Afghan Army troops including about 100 commandos.
This shows that the Taliban are back in full force and all the might of the US Army cannot tame the Taliban.
Here is some analyses from ex CIA analyst Ali Soufan's "Soufan Center"
AT A BREAKING POINT IN AFGHANISTAN
Bottom Line Up Front:
* Aug 13, Afghan govert sent 1,000 additional soldiers to assist battle in Ghazni.
* Taliban launched massive attack on the vital provincial capital on August 10.
* In 2 days, govt lost over 200 personnel, including highly regarded commandos.
* situation in Afghanistan no longer stalemate; the war is being lost.
importance of Ghazni to Afghanistan hard to overstate.
provincial capital: historically, symbolically significant, logistically vital.
important city for both govt and Taliban
Aug 10, 2018, Taliban launched massive well-planned assault
despite US upbeat statements Taliban showed limitations of best Afghan units
increasing reach and strength of Taliban
govt ‘holds’ cities while Taliban ‘controls’ countryside
this always ended poorly for those in cities
attack on Ghazni part of larger offensive
In Faryab Taliban killed 50 of 100 Afghan Army defenders
In Baghlan Taliban killed 16 govt soldiers and police
along crucial highway between Kunduz and Pul-e-Kumri
inability to control main supply routes between cities
each population center an island
country an archipelago of govt control against larger insurgent influence
In Ghazni Taliban used ISIS tactic - massive vehicle borne IED (VBIEDs)
no protection other than distance
U.S. conducted 16 airstrikes around Ghazni killing 140 Taliban
NYT reported Aug 13 Taliban killed over ‘200 defenders on four fronts’
Afghan govt requires direct U.S. combat support to avoid losing Ghazni
undeniable indictment of overall status of war
security situation tenuous in Faryab for a decade
consistently getting worse in Baghlan
to include capital of Mazar-e-Sharif
These areas were not considered Taliban strongholds
show country-wide reach of Taliban
U.S. continue to dismiss Taliban as failing opponent
My comments : Taliban, Afghanistan, Kelantanistan, Palestinistan, Iranistan, Saudistan, Yemenistan, Turkey-stan JUST LEAVE THEM ALONE.
Kita jangan masuk campur.
Their culture is killing.
Lagi ramai mati dibunuh lagi banyak depa rasa seronok.
Islamic brotherhood ?
What the heck is that?
Apa binatang itu - Islamic brotherhood?
Kita brotherhood sesama kita sendiri cukup lah ok.
Binatang lain semua biar depa cari bunuh-membunuh-hood depa sendiri.
