KUALA LUMPUR— PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali today said allegations that he had millions stashed in overseas accounts were political attacks ahead of the PKR elections.
“I am confident that these are political attacks ahead of the party elections and I have weathered such tests before,” Azmin told reporters in Parliament.
The allegations surfaced in an anonymous blog over a month ago.

My conscience is clear, says Azmin on ‘money stashed overseas’ claim
Incumbent PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has said the allegations that he stashed money in overseas bank accounts are merely political attacks due to the upcoming party polls.
“I am confident that these are just political games with the party elections coming up soon.
“I have been through all these tests before and my conscience is clear,” he said to reporters outside the Dewan Rakyat today.
Last month, a blog claimed that Azmin had at least RM300 million stashed overseas.
Azmin has also earlier responded to this claim, saying that those who have evidence of wrongdoing should lodge a report with the authorities instead of tarnishing his reputation anonymously.
He has also said he intends to take legal action against the blog.
Today, he reiterated that if the person has any evidence of wrongdoing, that person should lodge a report to the MACC.
“I have said this many times, were you not listening?
“Hand over any proof to the MACC, we have agencies who can investigate,” he said.
The nominations for PKR party elections is this weekend.
Azmin has maintained that he has yet to decide which position he will contest for, amid speculations that he may run for president against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim. – MKINI
