
Former Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation (MEIO) chief Hasanah Abdul Hamid who was arrested yesterday arrived at the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court this morning.
Wearing an orange MACC lock-up shirt and a purple scarf, she was handcuffed and escorted by two MACC officers.
The prosecution is expected to seek a remand order from the magistrate.
Hasanah was arrested by the MACC for allegedly misappropriating election funds.
Sources close to the case told Malaysiakini that she was being investigated over the missing money amounting to millions of ringgit.
The arrest was confirmed by MACC deputy chief commissioner of operations Azam Baki, who said that they will be investigating her under Section 23(1) of the MACC Act 2009.
