Liow's ex-aide double parks, he and his car hammered

A former aide to MCA president Liow Tiong Lai has suffered a double hammering. First, a Toyota Hilux hammers his Honda City. Second, he is hammered on social media for double parking.
Footage of the incident, which has gone viral, suggested that Wong Thim Cheong had double-parked his car, blocking the four-wheel drive, despite the availability of parking spots in the area.
The owner of the Hilux then proceeded to ram Wong's vehicle repeatedly.
Based on several photographs shared online, netizens pieced together that Wong was the owner and criticised him for double parking and similar offenders in general. Some also criticised the Hilux driver.
Contacted later, Wong declined to comment on the incident because it was now a police matter.
"What the netizens said was all slander," he said.
Wong's police report, the incident occurred on Aug 5 along Jalan Dato Poo Yew Choy in Bentong, Pahang.
Wong told the police that he doubled parked because they were no available parking bays at the time and had left his name card on the dashboard.
He also accused the driver of the Hilux of threatening to harm him physically.
However, the police report by the 4WD driver, also sighted by Malaysiakini, said he had sounded his horn for 30 minutes before reversing into Wong's vehicle.
According to China Press, the driver of the Hilux had emerged from a nearby pub and entered his vehicle at about 11.37pm. About a minute later, he reversed the Hilux into the City.
This prompted Wong to rush out from a nearby coffee shop to plead with the Hilux driver to stop. The driver ignored him and continued to ram the sedan five more times.
Citing eyewitnesses, the daily said the Hilux driver did not sound his horn for 30 minutes as claimed by netizens and that he has been arrested.
Wong had joined Liow's team three years ago as a special assistant.
Wong was appointed as a member of the Youth Parliament in 2017 representing Pahang and sits on the international relations and diplomatic committee. - Mkini
