Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak was summoned to the MACC's Kuala Lumpur headquarters in Jalan Duta this evening.
It is understood that Najib will be served a notice to face fresh charges tomorrow.
Najib arrived at the MACC office, located near his residence in Jalan Langgak Duta, at about 5pm. He was seen leaving the building about an hour later.
Prosecutors are expected to file several charges under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 against the former premier.
"There will be at least three charges under money laundering. Najib will be called up this afternoon for his statement to be recorded and released.
"He will be charged tomorrow morning in Kuala Lumpur," sources said on condition of anonymity.
Najib was already scheduled to appear at the Kuala Lumpur High Court tomorrow for the mention proceedings involving three counts of criminal breach of trust and one count of abuse of power.
The former premier had claimed trial to the four charges related to former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd.
The new charges against Najib tomorrow are also related to SRC International. - Mkini
