We tried our best on promises, no need to apologise - Wan Azizah

The Pakatan Harapan government has been trying its best to deliver the 10 promises within 100 days of coming to power, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said.
"I am being truthful. It seems we are not achieving what we wished to do in 100 days. We have tried our best," she told reporters at the Parliament lobby this morning.
Wan Azizah said the government is working on delivering the promises which were stated in Harapan's manifesto for the 14th general election.
“It is not easy because we are in an odd position and don't have enough information regarding the exact problems and then, we find out how deep the problems are.
"I am not giving excuses," she added.
Asked if the Harapan government should apologise to the people for not delivering the promises on time, she replied: “No lah.”
On a brighter note, Wan Azizah said she was pleased that one of the promises - Caruman Sukarela Insentif Suri (i-Suri), which is Phase One of an EPF programme for housewives - has been implemented.
The PKR president also helms the women, family and community development portfolio. The i-Suri scheme falls under this ministry.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the ruling government needed more time to complete its 100-day promises.
Beside i-Suri, Harapan also stabilised the petrol price on May 30.
Harapan has zero-rated the goods and services tax (GST) and plans to revert to the sales and services tax (SST) in September. The Harapan-controlled Dewan Rakyat has since passed the SST Bill and abolished the GST.

The ruling coalition, however has yet to set up a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) for Felda and Tabung Haji and on 1MDB.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC), however, has announced that it will re-open its probe on 1MDB. - Mkini
