It should be the duty of the Election Commission to institute legal action against the election offence committed.

Requesting others to make a police report would be a real waste of time and in most cases, the report lodged is kept in "cold storage" and no action or slow action been taken.

Since there are parties clearly stating that the following person or persons or political parties have committed an election offence, it should be the duty of the Election Commission to call and interview the respective parties and take a report and evidence from these people or NGO and take the required legal recourse and filed their police report so that the offender or offenders are hurled to court immediately.

The effectiveness of the Election Commission to lodge a police report would be much better since they are the administrators of a election and should be well versed to identify the election violation committed.

Swift action must be taken against all offenders and since it is becoming a menace, severe penalties must be imposed by the Courts to see that in future these sort of election offences are not committed again and will also sway others from not committing these offences in future elections.
