Former Felda chairperson Mohd Isa Samad wants FGV Holdings Bhd to furnish him with the documents of the minutes of the meeting that led to the company purchasing two luxury condominium units.
However, FGV is said to be objecting to Isa's Jan 25 discovery application for the documents.
Hence, the High Court in Kuala Lumpur today fixed April 12 as hearing for the discovery application before Justice Azimah Omar.
High Court deputy registrar Farah Syuhada Ramli fixed the date following case management today.
Isa's lawyer Lavinia Kumaraendran disclosed that her client had also filed his defence on Friday regarding the case while former Felda chief executive officer and president Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah is scheduled to file his on Wednesday.
FGV Holdings Bhd, through a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Nov 30 last year, had said that the suit against Isa and Mavani was related to the company's purchase of the two luxury condominium units at Troika on Persiaran KLCC at an above-market price.
The company said the suit was also related to the abuse of company vehicle and petrol benefits by Emir.
It is seeking RM4.54 million from both the defendants for the purchase of the condominium and RM3.15 million from Emir for the abuse of benefits.
The company is also demanding interest at five percent per year on the damages to be awarded by the court from the date of filing the suit until the date of the disposal of the case. -
