Saifuddin: Who knows how many assets Mat Hasan has?

RANTAU POLLS | In a bid to sway voters, PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution raised a comparison between Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun and his predecessor and the BN’s Rantau by-election candidate Mohamad Hasan.
"What is the difference between Mat Hasan and Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun? People often compare their talents, but there is another criterion that is easier, though often overlooked.
"Aminuddin declared his assets through Invoke Malaysia, making a statutory declaration. We can read it on the internet, to this day.
"Who knows how many assets Mat Hasan has?" he asked some 200 attendees at a ceramah at Pakatan Harapan's main operations centre in Bandar Ekar, Rantau, last night.
In addition, Saifuddin, who is domestic trade and consumer affairs minister, said 10 Negeri Sembilan state executive council members had also declared their assets to the state government, on July 18 last year.
These were among the changes being brought by Pakatan Harapan today, he said, to bring about a political environment of integrity and greater transparency.
"There is a need to show that our assets did not change before and after being elected. Even if there is an increase in assets, it should be through legitimate means," he said.
Also present at the event are Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Raja Bahrin Shah, Lumut MP Hatta Ramli and Negeri Sembilan Exco Member Nicole Tan Lee Koon.
Saifuddin went on to express hope that Rantau voters could prevent BN from scoring a third by-election victory since the 14th general election, following the opposition's victories in Cameron Highlands and Semenyih.
He also responded to Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin's call to turn the Rantau by-election into a "hat trick" victory for BN.
"They said they won in Cameron Highlands and Semenyih, and now they want to score a hat trick in Rantau. They are merely counting their own victories; Pakatan Harapan had won in Sungai Kandis, Seri Setia and Balakong.
"So, Rantau voters need to prevent BN from scoring a hat trick," Saifuddin said.
Apart from Mohamad and Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr S Streram, two independent candidates Mohd Nor Yasin and R Malar (photo, above) are contesting in the by-election.
The Election Commission has fixed April 9 for early voting and April 13 as the polling day. - Mkini
