Muhyiddin agrees with Kadir's 'quit if not up to par' remark

Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin agrees with veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin that government leaders should voluntarily step down and make way for others if their performances have not been up to par.
"I see it as the personal view of a media professional, although he (Kadir) is a Bersatu member.
"We leave it to the individuals who Kadir meant (to decide on whether to step down). I don't know who he meant.
"If it were me, I would step down," the Bersatu president told the media after attending a programme in Putrajaya this evening.
Muhyiddin was responding to Kadir's recent blog post, in which he called on menteris besar, chief ministers and state excos who are still struggling to perform a year after being in power to consider vacating their posts.
The minister noted, however, that the decision ultimately lay with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"This is the prime minister's prerogative, whatever actions should be taken by him," he said.
Kadir also wrote in his post that voters who had put Harapan in power have the right to assess their leaders.
He also urged those holding key government or GLC positions to step aside if they have not performed well, or if they are still loyal to the previous BN administration. - Mkini
