Police reports lodged over claims of cover-up in Perak exco's case

A PKR member today lodged a police report over an audio recording, purportedly of an aide of Perak exco Abdul Yunus Jamhari (photo), trying to negotiate to stop police investigations against his boss.
Abdul Yunus, who is the exco in charge of public facilities, infrastructure, agriculture and plantation, had denied the recording, claiming that it is fake.
However, Sazali Shamsudin, a PKR member with the Kampar PKR division, today lodged a police report asking cops to determine the authenticity of the recording.
"Today, I lodged a police report at the Ipoh district police headquarters. Four other police reports were also lodged elsewhere yesterday.

"The purpose of my police report is to urge police to investigate the authenticity of the audio recording as it is important," he said when contacted.
Last month, Beh Yong Kean, a former aide to Abdul Yunus, had lodged a police report accusing him of soliciting commission from two companies in exchange for endorsement to their bid to apply for 93 acres of state land.
Beh also alleged that Abdul Yunus leaked classified government documents for this purpose.
Abdul Yunus, who is PKR's Kuala Kurau assemblyperson, denied the allegation and accused Beh of being disgruntled and seeking revenge.
He also claimed the allegation against him had something to do with factional fighting in PKR.
The audio recording was purportedly about efforts to stop investigations into this case.
Last Friday, Perak police chief Razarudin Husain said two investigation papers relating to Abdul Yunus have been submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers for a decision. - Mkini
