TELLING A STORY TO JUSTIFY HIS ACTIONS - INTENDING TO GIVE RM5 MILLION TO CONSTRUCT A TEMPLE AT PUTRAJAYA WILL NOT UPLIFT THE STANDARD OF INDIANS

RM100 Million 2019 Budget allocation was actually meant for empowering the economy of the Indian community in the fields of education and commerce.

Waytha Moorthy had actually agreed that these funds will be channel directly to the needy persons once he secures to obtain this grant and to be transparent in his dealings to the Indian community.

Recently, there were calls for Waytha Moorthy to show the breakdown of the funds that had been disbursed.

Waytha Moorthy then explained that these figures could be viewed on the Mitra website.

Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit or Mitra in short, was formed by Waytha Moorthy and it is learnt that this Mitra usually works with other Indians NGOs to channel the required funds to the needy Indians.

Since then certain individuals had expressed their reservation that these funds could be misused and demanded a Town Hall meeting with Waytha Moorthy to address this issue.

Until today Waytha Moorthy has not accepted the call and to be transparent in his dealings on the disbursement of the RM100 Million budget allocation.

Yesterday, it was reported by an official of Parti Negara that RM5 Million was allocated for the construction of a temple at Putrajaya which has nothing to do with the empowering of the economy of the Indian community.

Today, Waytha Moorthy explained that RM5 Million was allocated to build a temple after considering the historical significance of the Dewi Sri Lalithaambigai Aalayam Temple at Precinct 20, Putrajaya on a land given by the then-government following the demolition of a dozen temples when Putrajaya was developed as the Administrative Capital of the federal government.

It was further revealed that the federal government has intentions to grant an addition RM5 Million to construct this temple next year once the Temple Committee furnish the required documentations but Mitra's website does not reveal this fact.

The Indian community has been marginalised by the then-federal government for many years and had been systematically denied advancement in the fields of education, commerce, employment and in adequate living standards.

Are the Indians going to be 'short-changed' by their own leaders once again. - Mohd. Kamal Abdullah

  1. Kuasa & Wang mungkin sudah mengubah sikap Wayta Moorthy terhadap perjuangan Hindraf .
