PETALING JAYA: The Filipino man, who allegedly shot his wife dead in Jolo island in a viral video that had spooked Sabahans, has been arrested in southern Philippines.
Police sources in Jolo confirmed that the man was arrested on Friday (Sept 13) and they shared a mugshot of him.
The 1.53-minute video showed the suspect pointing a pistol at his wife, who was wearing a white wedding dress which she wore during their marriage ceremony, in an unknown location in Jolo island at night.
Another unidentified man held the hand of the woman who was standing next to a freshly-dug shallow grave.
The suspect squeezed the trigger, but it failed to fire on his first two attempts.
On his third and fourth attempts, he shot his wife on the chest and she slumped into the shallow grave.

"The woman was accused of having an affair when she was working in Saudi Arabia. It was not true. But her husband killed her because he believed the slander," said a police source in Jolo.
His arrest in the Philippines proved that the speculation that he had fled to Sabah after the killing was not true.-Star
